The toughest competition of walk in tubs is found online. There are many online Walk In Tub companies to choose from at various price ranges. Each company will offer different sizes to fit your needs and it will be difficult to tell the difference in quality by just viewing images online.
Buyer Beware: Please ask for certifications and approvals from each company to ensure quality construction. The price range can be drastic so examine each company and find the right priced tub with a friendly & knowledgeable sales staff to answer all of your questions.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions: these companies should always be available on the phone to address all questions. Ask about time in business- price of tubs- lead time-construction- warranty and certifications.
Please see our list of companies that offer a website for you to view several models and a phone number for you to speak with a salesperson.
We do not endorse any Walk in Bathtub Company in particular; however you should ignore the reviews that are overly negative or positive. Such reviews are not likely to offer a balanced view and some of them could be fake reviews posted to promote or demote a company.
It is always a good idea to check BBB ratings and make sure the company is licensed to do business in your State by asking for the companies IAPMO Approval as well as UL certification. Try to avoid paying an excess for your tub and keep your 3 day cancellation rights and warranty paperwork.
When I was working for Safe Step Walk In Tub Co, I visited a home that had one of these tubs. The couple was older and didn’t have internet access, but their son did and that’s who ordered it for them originally.
To my understanding, the tub arrived with some damage and they were unsuccessful in getting the problem resolved. They had it repaired by the person that installed it, but ended up having standing water just outside the tub whenever they would use it. Turned out that there was another hairline crack that would give way when the tub was filled. We ended up replacing it for them, the installation cost even more than average because it had caused some of the floor joists to start rotting with all of the moisture under the tub.
